Introduction

Welcome to Qurl. These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the websites, applications, and services offered by the operator of Qurl at thequrl.com and related domains (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

If you are using the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you have authority to bind that organisation, and "you" refers to that organisation.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.

Definitions

Unless the context requires otherwise, the following definitions apply:

  • "Account" means the registered user profile through which you access the Service.
  • "Content" means text, graphics, images, software, links, and other materials you encounter through the Service.
  • "Customer Data" means data you submit to the Service, such as destination URLs, titles, workspace configuration, and similar inputs.
  • "Plan" means the subscription tier or commercial arrangement under which you use paid features, as described at checkout and in your account.

Account registration

You must provide accurate registration information and keep it up to date. You are responsible for safeguarding your credentials and for all activity under your Account except where caused by our gross negligence or wilful misconduct.

We may suspend or terminate Accounts that appear compromised, abusive, or in breach of these Terms. You must notify us promptly at support@thequrl.com if you believe unauthorised access has occurred.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. Without limitation, you must not use the Service to distribute malware, engage in phishing, send unsolicited bulk messages in violation of law, harass others, infringe intellectual property, or break applicable laws or regulations.

You must not probe, scan, or test the vulnerability of the Service without our prior written consent, or circumvent technical limits we apply to protect the platform.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement where required.

Service description

Qurl provides tools to create and manage short links and QR codes, configure dynamic destinations where supported, view usage analytics, and—depending on your Plan—access team or workspace features and API capabilities.

Features may evolve. We may add, modify, or retire functionality where reasonable, provided we do not materially reduce the overall value of a paid Plan without notice where such notice is required by law or by a specific contractual commitment with you.

Subscription and billing

Paid features are billed through our payment processor (currently Stripe). By purchasing a Plan, you authorise us and Stripe to charge your payment method for fees, taxes, and renewals on the cycle you select (for example monthly or annual).

Prices are shown before checkout. We may change future pricing for renewals with reasonable advance notice where required by law. Continued use after a renewal may constitute acceptance of the new price.

You are responsible for any taxes associated with your purchase other than taxes based on our net income.

Cancellation and refunds

You may cancel your subscription through the billing flows we make available in the Service or via your Stripe customer portal where applicable. Cancellation stops future renewal charges; it does not remove your obligation to pay amounts already due.

Unless otherwise required by applicable law or expressly stated at checkout, fees are generally non-refundable. Where the law grants you a statutory cooling-off or refund right, that right applies as dictated by the law governing your contract.

Intellectual property

We and our licensors own the Service, including software, branding, and documentation, subject to the licences expressly granted in these Terms. These Terms do not grant you any rights to our trademarks except to identify Qurl as the source of the Service in a non-misleading way.

Between us and you, you retain ownership of your Customer Data. You grant us a worldwide, non-exclusive licence to host, process, transmit, and display Customer Data solely to operate, secure, and improve the Service, and as described in our Privacy Policy.

Data usage

Our collection and use of personal data is described in the Privacy Policy at /privacy. By using the Service, you acknowledge that we will process data in line with that policy.

Availability and uptime

We aim to run the Service reliably, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. The Service may be temporarily unavailable for maintenance, security updates, or causes outside our reasonable control.

We may perform scheduled maintenance with notice where practicable. Unless expressly agreed in a separate written agreement, we do not offer uptime service-level credits.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, neither we nor our suppliers will be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities, arising from your use of the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, our aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid us for the Service in the three months before the event giving rise to liability, or (b) fifty pounds sterling (£50).

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those cases, our liability is limited to the fullest extent still permitted.

Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the Service if you materially breach these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if continuing would create an unreasonable security or legal risk.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases. Provisions that by their nature should survive (including ownership, liability limitations, and governing law) will survive.

Changes to these Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If a change materially affects your rights, we will provide reasonable notice where required by law (for example by email or in-product notice).

Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms where permitted by law.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. The courts of England and Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service, subject to any non-waivable rights you may have as a consumer in your home country.
